International Tax Manager – $110-125K plus 10-15% Annual Bonus

One of our best Large Clients (over $1B in annual revenue and International) with High Tech offerings in West Tampa/Tampa Airport area is hiring, as this relatively mature and very stable organization is growing pretty rapidly right now. The organization has been around for over 40 years and this position reports directly to an outstanding VP of Tax. The role is paying in the $110-125K range plus 10-15% annual bonus and would train for a Director role. All of the leadership in the Accounting, Tax, and Treasury group is very approachable, can ask anyone a question from CFO down, and they work in a very collaborative environment.
In terms of benefits, great PTO and Holidays, a solid 401k and match, along with solid Health, Dental, Vision, and other insurances. Generally speaking, after getting acclimated with the environment, it is an average of a 45 hour work week with flexible working schedules throughout the month and there is very light, if any travel.  There may be full remote opportunities for this role as well if in another location outside of Tampa, as well as if located in Tampa.

 

Job Summary

 

  • This position is responsible for efficiently managing the international tax compliance function of the company and its subsidiaries with respect to all tax types, including those based on sales (e.g., GST/VAT) and income.  This includes international reporting components of the domestic compliance as well as managing the international compliance function with outside professional vendors.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Works closely with the VP of Tax on global transfer pricing and tax planning, including keeping abreast of the latest legislative and enforcement developments globally and proactively designing and implementing strategies to optimize tax positions
  • Support preparation of the income tax and sales tax compliance obligations of the Company
  • Work with internal colleagues and external advisors in preparation and follow-up of foreign income and sales tax returns and correspondence
  • Responsible for managing the Company s transfer pricing policies and compliance
  • Responsible for tracking changes in international tax laws
  • Supports the tax accounting computation and reporting function
  • Include reconciliation of current and deferred taxes, temporary and permanent difference calculations and research into the appropriate tax accounting required under ASC 740 (fka FAS 109) and ASC 740-10 (fka FIN 48)
  • Reconcile and review the legal entity accounting books and records.
  • Coordinate, aid in preparation of, and review foreign income tax compliance, sales tax compliance, and related computations
  • Manage and summarize transfer pricing
  • Track domestic and international tax laws and research
  • Work on foreign tax audits
  • Prepare E&P calculations and Forms 5471 data
  • Prepare ASC 740 and ASC 740-10 workpapers and reporting
  • Aiding the Tax Director regarding domestic and international tax matters and planning
  • Assists with any special projects as requested by the Tax Director

  • Demonstrated experience with research and information gathering, including the ability to quickly gather data in a short timeframe on a wide variety of topics
  • Strong mathematical skills. Must be able to operate 10-key calculators, computer and other electronic supportive equipment to perform calculations and produce documents
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations

Education and/or Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA license and/or Masters in Taxation preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years combined international tax experience in the Big Four or in an international tax role with a company having global operations, or in a combination of the two ASC 740 and U.S. GAAP knowledge and experience required
  • International tax compliance experience and transfer pricing experience required
  • Demonstrated experience in tax software and enterprise reporting systems
  • Excellent PC skills, proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
